Ulele Spring

Ulele Springs one year post restoration

Summary

The Ulele Spring shoreline restoration project at the Water Works District in Tampa, Florida covers about 500 linear feet or shoreline. Designed by Ecosphere Restoration Institute and partners, the project improved the shoreline along a spring run by softening the bank with a hybrid approach. Rock and sediment sills were installed and native vegetation was planted along a redeemed seawall. The project revitalized the spring and surrounding area, creating a living shoreline that stabilizes the bank and provides habitat for fish and wildlife.
