The Snook Islands project is a system of created islands with mudflat, mangrove, oyster, and seagrass habitats in the Lake Worth Lagoon. Palm Beach County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began planning the project in 1998 and multiple project phases have since been completed. In total, six islands have been created along 1.2 miles of shoreline.
