This living shoreline project was constructed in 2018 at the Driftwood Motel in Jensen Beach, Florida. The shoreline had been eroding for years, but considerable loss was noticed after the 2004 hurricane season. Concrete rubble was placed along the shoreline to be colonized by oysters, and several species of native vegetation were planted to help stabilize sediments and create more habitat.
