Summary
The Sawyer Street shoreline restoration project is located on St. George Island in Franklin County, Florida. Led by the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, this habitat restoration project targeted a medium energy site. A combination of breakwaters and native vegetation was used to protect the shoreline. The breakwaters consisted of large limestone rocks placed over filter fabric for added stability. Native plants were installed to help stabilize the shoreline and enhance marsh habitat.
