Summary

The living shoreline project at Joe Rains Beach in Cedar Key stretches 450 linear feet and is open to the public. It was a partnership effort led by UF/IFAS, the City of Cedar Key, and local residents. This project was paired with a dredging effort, using the dredged material to help build up the site. Low and high marsh plants were added in late spring.
