Solutions to the problem of securing estuarine shorelines from the effects of waves while maintaining the function of natural communities along these same shorelines is a topic of considerable interest to resource managers, research scientists, private property owners and the public at large. Coastal wetlands are largely public resources that provide many economic and ecological benefits to coastal communities, so it’s little wonder that a considerable number of peer reviewed scientific and popular articles have been written about LSLs. The references provided in this website are just a few of the selected works addressing LSLs in Florida and elsewhere where the water meets the landward fringe.
